Reawakening the five senses

Day 1

• Early afternoon arrival in Montalto Dora for the departure by e-bike in search of the Terre Ballerine, passing by “Lago Coniglio” – a lake which has disappeared since 1895 and left a layer of floating peat. Over time, after the lake dried up, the wood took possession of the free area and now almost completely covers the entire valley. The particularity of the peat land is its great elasticity; walking on it, there is the effect of seeing dancing plants as you pass and the feeling of walking on a water mattress. This tour will also take you on to the Via Francigena.
• In the afternoon, guests will visit Balmetti of Borgofranco d’Ivrea, characteristic natural wine cellars against the moraine rocks of the Mombarone massif. There are more than two hundred and they have been in use since ancient times for the preservation of tome cheese, cured meats and wine. At the end of the visit, merenda Sinoira (late-afternoon brunch)..
• Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation in 3* hotel in the area of Castellamonte.

Day 2

• Breakfast and check-out
• E-bike outing with nature guide to the Fornace di Castellamonte and continuation along the river path which connects Castellamonte to Agliè..
• Stop for lunch in brewery in Bairo with craft beers paired with local products..
• Continuation of hilly route in the afternoon characterised by master trees in the nearby hills of the West Moraine passing through the towns of Torre, Vialfrè and Agliè..
• In the afternoon, tasting of wines, including the Erbaluce of Caluso, in a family-run winery in Agliè.
• Return to Castellamonte..
• Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation in 3* hotel in the area of Castellamonte.

Day 3

• Guided tour of Bolla di Agliè for an experience in nature in which all the senses will be reawakened..
• At the end, tasting based on wild herbs..
• Lunch at leisure.
• Transfer to Vignale Monferrato.
• Trekking among the vineyards. A trail among the vineyards of a famous winery of the area to get to know biodiversity, the history and flavours of the land. Along the way, stop at Big Bench nr. 107 of the Big Bench Community for a souvenir selfie..
• Wine tasting to follow on the scenic terrace of the winery with a spectacular view of the vineyards, for an engaging and emotional experience
• Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation in B&B in Vignale Monferrato.

Day 4

• Breakfast in B&B and departure for a route that crosses the Infernots, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
The infernots are the icons of Monferrato, precious inheritance of the peasant tradition, dug under the houses. Thanks to the particular geological characteristics of the land of sea origin, the pietra da cantoni, these underground cavities maintain the temperature and humidity constant all year making them perfect for the storage of food and wine.
Their architecture and the skill used to create them ensure the uniqueness of each. Day dedicated to the discovery of the infernots in the areas of Fubine, Camagna, Cella Monte and Rosignano. Along the route, in Fubine you can visit the Bricherasio Chapel with its statues by Bistolfi, in Camagna the Church of San Eusebio with the spectacular Antonelliana school dome, in Cella Monte the Eco Museum of the Pietra da Cantoni to discover all the curiosities of the sandstone of the infernots and the Morbelli route in Rosignano.
• Lunch at leisure during the route.
• Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation in B&B in Vignale Monferrato.

Day 5

• Breakfast in B&B and transfer to Altavilla Monferrato.
• Visit to ancient historical distillery: a journey to discover the grappa obtained from the best vines of the area which will end with a tasting session.
• Lunch at leisure and end of package.
