CASALONE

Barbera d’Asti “Ruber Millo” - Barbera del M.to Superiore “Bricco Morlantino” - Monferrato Freisa - Monferrato Rosso “Rus” (barbera, merlot, pinot nero) and “Fandamat” (pinot nero) - Monemvasia (Greek malvasia) - Spumante Brut “Monemvasia” - Monemvasia Passita We are a family-run company (10 hectares of vineyards) and produce typical wines of Monferrato (Barbera, Grignolino, Freisa and Cortese) as well as several international vines (Merlot and Pinot Nero). The rediscovery of the ancient and rare white berry vine Malvasia Moscato (known as Greek Malvasia in the Monferrato tradition) by our father in the 1980s has characterised the last 30 years of our production. Following continuous experimentation, we now have 3 hectares planted with Malvasia Moscata, from which we produce white wine, spumante and passito. In association with the CNR (National Research Centre) of Turin, we are carrying out experimental research in the vineyard on several clones of Malvasia Moscata. We also produce three types of Barbera del Monferrato (basic, aged in traditional oak casks and in barriques), in addition to vinifying the Merlot and Pinot Nero, both blended and pure. Since the 2014 harvest, Grignolino has been the protagonist of a limited and precious edition aged 24 months in tonneaux, dedicated to one of the most famous works of Pietro Francesco Guala, I Canonici di Lu.
