Cascina Tollu

Rocca Grimalda is one of the most captivating villages of the area of Ovada, home to a great Dolcetto and a legendary dish, Perbureira, made of beans and pasta lasagnette, celebrated by a festival that is more than thirty years old. To reach this agriturismo you need to immerse yourself in the countryside, without crossing the centre of the village. The surrounding vegetation is lush and makes the beautiful stone architecture that distinguishes the farm stand out even more. Inside, the rooms are tastefully furnished and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The service is friendly, without any fuss. The cuisine is simple and down-to-earth. The menu is delightful and well balanced, not heavy on the stomach, thanks also to the choice of ingredients. The wines are homemade (the owners are also wine producers) and will not disappoint. The starters vary greatly depending on the season and, inevitably, on what the vegetable garden can offer: vegetable pie, peppers in bagna caoda, courgette and aubergine terrine, egg mimosa, fried triangles with cheese and anchovy and excellent Olivier salad and veal in tuna sauce. The first course is also highly dependent on the season. The offer ranges between ravioli with meat sauce, pansoti with walnut sauce, green tagliatelle to dress with garden vegetables or with mushrooms, lasagne with speck, artichokes and pine kernels. The second course always includes pan-roasted rabbit, but also guinea fowl and stuffed veal breast. Roast beef and garden salad can join these in summer. The desserts include bavarois or semifreddo, and peach and amaretto terrine or fruit salad in summer. The dining area is ideal for dinners with friends; the smaller room is also perfect for a romantic dinner for two. Suspension 2020 communicated by e-mail, pending form
