Castello di Monastero Bormida

The castle is located in the lower town square that still partially retains the old river stone paving. Originally, it was a monastery and the current tower was the bell tower. In the 15th century, an initial defensive structure was added followed by renovations and extensions. Access is through a bridge elevation and the old gateway in the ancient walls.
