GELATERIA CANELIN

A real king of nougat is Giovanni Verdese – known as Canelin -admired by Luigi Veronelli and Gianfranco Vissani, who has been making nougat in Visone d'Acqui for over 50 years. He personally selects the hazelnuts (only those from Piedmont and local honey) and follows every "cooked" stage step by step. Over the years, Verdese has received certificates and awards, such as the Faccino d'oro of Papillon in 1994, and the international prize Risit d'Aur di casa Nonino award in 2002. In his artisan workshop, he also prepares amaretti, Easter eggs mixed with chocolate and crumbled nougat and summer nougat ice cream.
