Museo del giocattolo

The Museo del Giocattolo (Toy Museum) was opened on May 20th 2007 and houses the collection donated by Enrico Colombotto Rosso. In the first room are some 100 ceramic dolls made between 1880 and 1920, toy horses, illustrations and countless other pieces from the period, right up to the 1930s. Also to be seen is an 80 year old wooden Pinocchio, donated by Idalberta Gazzelli Sarno from Asti, this being a toy from her childhood, made by the family carpenter. The Museum is to be found in the Palazzo Municipale where there is also the storeroom with the works of Enrico Colombotto Rosso, donated in 2003. Within two years the museum will be enlarged at Pontestura, thanks to Colombotto Rosso, one of Italy’s greatest surrealists and contributor to one of the most interesting museums in the country.
