Parrocchiale antica di San Salvatore

The parish church of San Salvatore, which overlooks a panoramic square, retains the original Romanesque framework and the tower that serves as a belfry. Inside, it preserves an interesting fresco decoration, although most of it is fragmentary; the upper lunette of the last bay of the left minor nave is an Annunciation with two Saints at the sides and in the wall below a polyptych is frescoed dating from the end of the 15th century, work of a follower of Giovanni Martino Spanzotti; other fragments of the same period, but by a different artist, are found in the right minor nave. The church is open to visitors on some Sundays from 15-18. For further information: www.comune.ozzanomonferrato.al.it/it
