In Piedmont, an hour's drive from Milan, Turin and Genova and just a little further away from the borders of France and Switzerland, between the Alps and the Ligurian Sea, are the province of Alessandria and the province of Asti, representing one of Piedmont's cultural, artistic and economic hearts.
