Chocolate amaretti spoon dessert

Bonèt is the forerunner of blancmange without gelatine, isinglass or thickener. This cream dessert was very popular in southern Piedmont. The name bonèt, which referred to a flat hat in local dialect dating back to the 18th century, is alternately explained with reference to the “Benetta” mould, a round copper mould with a hole in the middle.
